Dark Places by Shaun Allan

Shaun Allan’s Dark Places…Wow.

I’m not sure I can do this collection of short stories and poems justice. Once again, he was seemingly in my head, putting into words various feelings I’ve had over the last couple of years. It’s a bit unnerving, but oddly comforting. The mind certainly does have Dark Places, whether we can admit to them or not. Fans of Allan will not be disappointed in the slightest, as he continues to bring forth the loss, sorrow, love and pain people feel everyday. Not all the pieces in the collection are sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural in nature, though, which lends a more real and honest hand to his writing. My suggestion? Buy it on Amazon. Now.

  1. Thanks do much for a lovely review. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

  2. Dark Places is my favorite Shaun Allan book, by just a hair. His way with prose is just brilliant, and the sharp darkness of his humor strikes a chord in my reading soul! I’m so glad you posted about this truly engrossing book!

Hi Connie! I totally agree. It has this ability to suck the reader and hold on, which says a lot about his style. I hope he does another collection, actually.
