Looking out over the Atchafalaya Basin swamp from I-10E on 9/6. From there we made our way into a wildlife refuge area. Not being familiar with the regulations, apparently we were in there without proper licensing or documentation of any kind. Lesson learned. On the positive, we found a great location for fishing, and it has a public shooting range. Legally, we need a LA hunting or fishing license or wilderness stamp to even drive through the refuge. It’s on a long list of things to do.
9/20 found us in the Breaux Bridge-Henderson area. We hit the Art Walk after seeing some dinosaurs, and from there we went to Lake Martin. What’s funny is, we were looking for the Cypress Island Preserve. Discovery? It’s the same place!
We didn’t go far last weekend, BUT I was able to finally find lavender and sage plants! We found them at this outdoor fall plant sale up the street. They had all kinds of cute displays, pumpkins and the like to get people in the Fall spirit 🙂
